Wicked Tinkers – Cask Strength Tribal Celtic Music!
Prepare yourself for a wild ride with WICKED TINKERS! Pioneers of the growing Tribal Celtic movement, the Tinkers have been playing haunting, heart-pounding bagpipes and irresistible tribal drums as a professional touring band since 1995. With the addition, several years back, of the mesmerizing drone of the Australian didgeridoo and Bronze Age Irish horn, the magic was complete. Sit back and be transported to an earlier time in Scotland and Ireland, when battle cries filled the air and strange, unheard-of creatures roamed the night. Or better yet, get on your feet and let your body move to ancient rhythms and forgotten sounds.
Cal
Michael (CAL) Callaghan, lead singer, guitarist, keyboards and songwriter has performed with a successful solo career in venues not only in the UK, but also parts of Europe, America and Canada. He has been covering music from all genres and his own material, since 1997 and has released 4 albums to date under his own record label Cal Music. He won a National Song-writing Competition in 2007, winning not only for his performance on the night, but also in an on-line public vote.
Fifth Reel and Friends
Fifth Reel and friends have been playing for contra dances, events like Robert Burns celebrations, weddings, parties and St. Patrick's Day celebrations since 1996. The band produced a CD in 1999 under its former name "Blarney Pilgrim."
Consisting of piano, fiddle, clarinet, saxophone, hammered dulcimer, bodhran and vocals, Fifth Reel plays a variety of music including Irish, Scottish, American Old Time and Jazz.
